Caroline Ha Thuc

 

Caroline Ha Thuc is a French curator and art writer, writing for Art Press magazine in France and contributing to several publications in Hong Kong.

Specialized in Asian art, Ha Thuc spent two years in Japan and published a book about post-Murakami contemporary Japanese art (Nouvel Art Contemporain Japonais - in French). In 2011 she moved to Hong Kong, interviewing the artists and visiting their studios in an attempt to put back their practice in the very specific context of the territory. Her book Contemporary Art in Hong Kong (published by Nouvelles Editions Scala and Asia One) aims at providing essential keys to apprehend the city’s vibrant contemporary landscape and at exposing the countless links between history, culture and identity.

Caroline Ha Thuc just published a new book about contemporary art in China, analysing by themes the artworks produced after 2000(After 2000 : Contemporary Art In China published in French by Nouvelles Editions Scala), and simultaneously continues fostering dialogues between Western and Asian art through her writings and curated shows.

Alice Rensy

 

Alice has worked in culture administration with many visual artists and performers. She started to produce contemporary dance performances in private spaces under the concept name HappArt : one-time in situ performance by professional dancers who show their work to a different audience in a friendly context. Until today, there has been 8 editions in Paris, 2 in Hong Kong. She has been the administrator of the choreographer Raimund Hoghe and toured with his team in Montpellier, Grenoble, Belfort, New York, Brussels, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Tokyo.

Based in Hong Kong since 2012, she focuses on the chinese and hong kongese contemporary dance and performance scene, helping talented artists to bloom locally and internationally. In collaboration with the chinese dancer choreographer Yang Hao, she has recently worked as artistic advisor on the pieces “Outspoken” (2014), a solo presented at the Hong Kong Arts Festival, and “Nothing… but something” (2014). She produces many performances, of which the performance created by New York based artist Ryan McNamara curated by Yana Peel for Chai Wan Mei during Art Basel on May 16, 2014.
